Mr. Xiangyuan Zhu, former member of NPC Standing Committee and vice chairman of China Democratic National Construction Association, attended this convention and made the keynote speech. The speech showed great foresight and implications. He first unfolded the critical challenges with that China is faced in rapid growth of industrialization, urbanization and demographic aging, and pointed out that the medical system reform which is the prime concern of the people is the biggest challenge. Mr. Zhu maintained that the flourishing of health risk management in China provides a great opportunity for resolving the contradictions between the market economy and the planned economy and accelerating the healthcare reform. Thus he expressed his great expectations for the business of health risk management, and gave high praise and recognition to the leading health risk management enterprises of which Valurise Health Solutions International Group (VHS) is a good and pioneering representative.
Mr.Xiangyuan Zhu also redefined and reinterpreted the “three treasures of life”---health, wisdom, and youth in emotion, which has great theoretical and practical values in enhancing the physical and mental health of the Chinese staffs in enterprises.
At present, as people become more and more concerned with “social security”, there is a series of unavoidable challenges for either the staff, or the enterprises or the society.
“This year before the two conferences (NPC and CPCC) was held, the public had already showed concern on livelihood issues and healthcare naturally was one of their focuses”, said Mr. Longchun Sun, former vice minister of the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Longchun Sun also pointed out that “although Chinese health risk management is a new complete, well-organized and scientific service system as the understanding of it deepens, a series of health risk management institutions represented by VHS have emerged. Such institutions, exploring and innovating on the basis of the conditions in China, can ease the contradiction between the increasing healthcare demands and the limited health resources, curb the medical expenditure, improve the medical treatment and reduce people’s economic burden.”

The organic combination of Health Insurance and Health Risk Management is the inevitable requirement of Health Insurance specialized operations, thus the synergies between Health Risk Management and Health Insurance should be maximized”, said Mr. Yisheng Gong, executive director in the Life Insurance Dept. of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission(CIRC).
“Health insurance is not simple transaction of cash. It should provide comprehensive health risk management and service, including health maintenance and the complete management before, during and after the treatment”, said Mr. Zhichao Wang, Chief Secretary of the Insurance Association of China.
The CEO of VHS, Dr. Rico W.Tong said in the forum that research indicates that after the risk intervention of VHS, the cost of four major chronic diseases has been reduced by about 16%, which exceeds the early expectation. Mr. Warren. E. Todd, executive director of IDMA said in the convention, “Half of chronic diseases are originated from pressure. The practice of international health risk management shows that 75% of the diseases can be prevented”.
Besides, many speakers pointed out that as the material wealth grows, the sense of happiness is going down. This kind of deviation deserves the public concern from enterprises and the society.

After the health risk management of VHS, the staff indeed has felt health care, their sense of health has also been enhanced and their work pressure has been effectively reduced, which is very good for healthy and sustainable development of the enterprise”.

The 2011 International Health Risk Management Forum has ended successfully, in which wonderful ideas and experiences had been shared. The attendants had the consensus that the exploration of health risk management for enterprises has just started. China is in a critical transitional phase of rapid industrialization, urbanization, and aging.
The exploration of cross-sectoral cooperation between health risk management business and other enterprises, insurance industry or health care service industry, will help Chinese enterprises and their staffs manage their health more effectively, lessen the risks the enterprises experience in development, and actively promote the development of health insurance and its effects on the multi-level medical system construction in China.
